Dallas Everest Lions Club’s commitment to disaster relief goes back to our formation in March 2003. Whenever and wherever disasters strike around the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex or in Nepal, Lions are often among the first to offer aid—and the Lions are right there with them, ready to support their efforts with funding assistance through our disaster relief programs.
Working together, the members of Dallas Everest Lions Club assess the urgent needs and quickly deliver the aid most required by victims. This grassroots model has been proven effective in tragedies around the world, such as the Southeast Asia tsunami, the September 11th attack, and the Haiti earthquake. Lions know that disaster can affect anyone’s community, whether it’s halfway around the world or right at home. That’s why in the last 10 years, Lions have provided more than $100 million for disaster relief programs worldwide.
Emergency grants are available to provide basic immediate needs including food, water, clothing, and medicine. We have learned from experience that when a disaster victim receives aid quickly, it provides the strength needed to survive the shock and loss and even a little hope for the future.
Dallas Everest Lions Club obtains its emergency grants through the Texas Lions Foundation, which provides the administration of applications, reviews, and hastens financial assistance for those in need.
